A Long Way Home is the book behind the acclaimed movie Lion, in it we trace the incredible journey of Saroo Brierley. As a small child living in India, Saroo lived with his mother and three siblings. Their poor family barely eked out a meager existence with all but the three year old daughter pitching in to make ends meet. One fateful day, Saroo and his big brother walk to the nearby train station to earn some money. Saroo, ends up on a train and can’t get off until many miles later. This book tells the story of being lost and found, of family, both biological and adopted, of seeking and finding. The scope of Saroo’s journey, both in miles and in development, is remarkable and heartwarming. Readers who enjoy memoirs set in foreign lands will enjoy this book and probably shed a few tears too.
